Bought a $200 light pollution filter that did nothing for my city sky shots

I grabbed one of those supposed "urban sky" filters off Amazon thinking it'd magically cut through the orange glow over downtown Denver. Spent a whole Saturday night taking test shots from my back patio and comparing them side by side. The difference was maybe 2% at best, not even worth the hassle of screwing it on. Anyone else found a filter that actually works in a city?

Oh man, I think those filters are mostly a gimmick honestly. City light pollution is more about the sky glow itself than just one specific wavelength they claim to block.
