Almost ruined a shot of the Milky Way because of my headlamp

I was out at Joshua Tree last month trying to get a clean shot of the galactic core. I had the camera set up and ran back to my car to grab a lens cloth, but forgot my red headlamp was still on bright white mode. The long exposure picked up the beam sweeping across the foreground and left this ugly green streak right through the frame. Took me 20 minutes to redo the shot and get it clean. Has anyone else messed up a dark sky photo with something dumb like that?

Forgot my red headlamp was still on bright white mode." Oh no. That is brutal. I felt that one in my gut.

I mean, at least you didn't accidentally shine it in someone's eyes while they were trying to stargaze.
