Why do people keep answering questions they clearly don't understand?

I spent 20 minutes on a thread about budgeting apps and half the replies were recommending crypto trading. If you don't know the difference between tracking expenses and investing, just say so instead of sending someone down a rabbit hole. Has anyone else noticed this getting worse over the last few months?

Tbh it really does feel like people just see a money question and immediately shout crypto without reading the actual post. That budgeting thread sounds like a total nightmare, twenty minutes of your life gone for nothing. It's been way worse lately, like the bots or the get-rich-quick crowd took over every finance topic. People should just admit when they don't know something instead of copy-pasting the same bad advice everywhere.
