TIL a guy at the bus stop changed how I think about money
I was waiting for the 42 bus in Philly last Tuesday and this older dude started talking about how he saved $20 a week for 10 years by not buying coffee out. Said it paid for his daughter's first car, and it hit me different because I spend $5 a day on energy drinks without even thinking. Has anyone else had a random stranger say something that made you totally rethink your habits?

Ngl that coffee savings story gets me every time but the energy drink thing is wild. I did the math on my Monster habit once and almost choked, $5 a day is like 35 bucks a week right? That's $1,820 a year just for caffeine jitters and a weird aftertaste. Honestly I switched to the store brand powder packets after that and my wallet feels it but my taste buds are still mad.

Did those store brand packets actually save you money or did you end up drinking twice as many?
