That Tuesday where every customer had the same weird question
Last Tuesday at the front desk in Denver, I swear 7 different people asked if we price match with a random website I'd never heard of. The third guy even showed me his phone with a $12 price for something we sell for $60, and he got mad when I said it looked like a scam. By 3pm I was hiding in the back room eating a sad sandwich. Anyone else get days where the whole city seems to ask the same thing at once?

Funny how people will trust some random site they found on their phone over the actual store standing right in front of them. That $12 price was probably a bait and switch or a fake listing, and the guy got mad at you for doing your job. Sounds like he wanted you to just lie and say yeah sure, we'll match that, then eat the loss when the order falls through. Different view here, but maybe the real issue is people don't know how to spot a scam anymore, and they take it out on whoever's behind the counter. You handled it right by not caving, even if that sandwich was sad. Next time, just tell them to order it from that mystery site and see what shows up.
