Stripper set me straight about how I talk to people

Was chatting with this dancer in Tucson after my install gig and she called out that I was asking questions like I was reading from a checklist, not actually listening. Now I try to let convos breathe and it's wild how much more real info people drop when you shut up for a second. Anyone else have a random stranger call out a habit you didn't know you had?
