Shoutout to the barista who corrected my coffee order pronunciation for 3 years
I've been going to this spot in Portland called Blue Bridge Coffee since 2021 and ordering a "moh-kah" latte every single time. Last week the barista finally smiled and said it's actually "mok-ka" with a hard K sound. I've been saying it wrong at 4 other cafes too and nobody ever bothered to tell me lol. Now I'm wondering how many other words I've been butchering in public for years. Has anyone else had someone let them walk around looking dumb forever before finally correcting them?

Three years is way too nice of them to wait.

Whoa, hold up, I actually think the three years might be way too harsh! Everyone's so focused on the speed of their reaction but nobody's talking about what they were doing in those three years. What if they were quietly gathering proof or watching the situation get worse before they finally said something? It's like in court cases where people wait years to come forward because they're scared of not being believed, you know? Maybe they needed that time to build up the courage or the evidence to make their claim stick. We always want people to speak up immediately but sometimes the waiting is part of the story too.
