PSA: I was wrong about using hot water to clean paint brushes for 15 years

Turns out hot water sets latex paint into the bristles (who knew?), and my painting contractor neighbor laughed at me for a solid 2 minutes when he saw me doing it last Saturday - has anyone else dealt with this revelation mid-project?

Turns out hot water sets latex paint into the bristles" - well buddy, you just made me feel a lot better about the time I tried cleaning oil-based brushes with dish soap and ended up with solid paint-cicles on my porch. I bet your neighbor got a good laugh out of it but hey, we all learn the hard way sometimes. At least now you can save some good brushes from my same fate!

oh man i was totally on team hot water for like the last decade. thought it was the way to go to loosen everything up. glad i saw this before i ruined another round of brushes honestly.
