Just picked the 2 bedroom over the studio and it worked out better than I thought

I was looking at apartments in Portland last month and had to choose between a tiny studio for $950 or a 2 bedroom for $1100. I went with the bigger one thinking I'd find a roommate but ended up using the extra room as a home office. Been three weeks now and the commute to my desk is 10 seconds, which is way better than my old coffee shop setup. Anyone else take a gamble on a bigger space and have it pay off?

Having that second room means friends can crash without sleeping on your couch.

Grabbed a 2 bedroom last year myself and honestly kind of regret it. I mean the extra space is nice at first but then you just fill it with junk you don't need. My buddy did the same thing with a spare room and now it's just a pile of boxes he never unpacked. Plus you're paying for heat and electricity on that whole extra room every month. Idk maybe it's just me but I'd rather save the $150 and put it toward something else.
