I was a total skeptic about meal kit boxes until my sister forced me to try one
Back in 2021, my sister signed me up for a HelloFresh box as a birthday gift and I thought it was just an expensive way to get tiny portions. But after a week of cooking three dinners that actually turned out good, I was hooked. The thing that got me was how they sent pre-measured spices and sauces, so I stopped wasting half a jar of cumin every time I tried a new recipe. I saved about $40 that first week compared to my usual takeout habit. Has anyone else had a big change of heart about something they were sure they'd hate?

Meal kits changed my mind too. Totally worth it just for not wasting spices anymore.

Hold on, you're telling me you actually bought a whole jar of something like smoked paprika, used a teaspoon of it, and then let the rest sit in your cabinet for three years until it turned into dust? Because that is the story of my life before meal kits. I still have a container of dried lavender from a 2018 lemon chicken recipe that I am too stubborn to throw away. The meal kit people somehow know exactly how much half a teaspoon of cumin you need for one dinner. It is honestly spooky how well they have that ratio calculated. Now I can keep my ridiculous spice collection for things I actually cook more than once a decade.
