I think bullet journaling gets overhyped after 4 months of trying it

Last month I finally gave in and bought a nice dotted notebook for 22 bucks, plus all the fancy pens. Everyone online makes it sound like this magic system that fixes your whole life. But after 30 days of tracking habits, moods, and water intake, I just felt like I was spending 20 minutes a day decorating instead of actually doing stuff. Last week I stopped filling it out and my productivity went up, not down. My sister swears by hers and she's been doing it for 3 years, so maybe it works for certain personality types. But for me, a simple list on my phone does the same job without the pressure to make it look pretty. Has anyone else tried it for a real stretch and decided it wasn't for them, or am I missing the point entirely?

True, but try using it to just plan tomorrow, not decorate your whole life.
