Watched a crew film a car ad out on Apache Trail and the dust rig blew me away
Drove out to Apache Trail near Tortilla Flat last month for a hike and ran into a small crew shooting a truck commercial on the dirt road. They had a chase car with a camera arm and a guy with a leaf blower rigged to kick up dust on cue for every pass. What got me was how slow it all was, like 40 minutes of setup for maybe 3 seconds of the truck rolling through the frame. The gaffer let me peek at their monitor and the dust read way better in camera than it looked in person. Anyone here ever shot out on that road, and how do you handle the dust getting into your gear?
