Was skeptical about gimbal rental companies in Phoenix until last week

Rented a DJI RS 4 from a shop off 7th Ave for a corporate shoot near Camelback. Had always just bought gear before but this one day rental was $75 and saved my back carrying a rigged out FX6. The stabilizer was clean and calibrated perfectly. Has anyone else had good luck renting vs buying here in Arizona?

Have you tried that place on 16th Street too? I rented a Ronin from them last fall for a weekend wedding gig and it worked out way better than I expected. For $75 that's a steal compared to dropping a couple grand on something you'll only use a few times.

Dang, $75 for one day vs carrying a rigged out FX6 all over Camelback? Sounds like you saved your back and your wallet a good talking to! I’m all for buying gear when it makes sense, but for a one-off shoot that’s a no-brainer. Next time I’ll probably just rent and throw the savings at a decent lunch for the crew instead of hauling around a bunch of stuff I’ll barely touch again.

My buddy rented a gimbal from that same 7th Ave spot for a music video and the thing had a loose screw right out of the case, totally ruined his first two takes. Made me glad I went with the place near Camelback instead.
