That one shoot in July where everything fell apart
I booked a 3-day commercial shoot in Sedona during monsoon season and my gear got soaked on day one. The director insisted we push through, so I spent 8 hours drying lenses with a car heater while the client argued about reshoot costs. Has anyone else dealt with a producer who ignores weather reports?

...and the worst part is that was the same shoot where my Pelican case latch broke, so I had to bungee cord the whole thing shut for the rest of the job. Ended up using a ziploc baggie rigged with gaffer tape as a makeshift rain cover for the A-cam. The client's PA kept asking if I needed a towel.

Laugh just thinking about that Sedona shoot, man. @eric_morgan59 your bungee cord story reminds me of my own dumb solution: I used a trash bag and a shoe string as a rain cover, looked like a homeless person's camera rig. The producer was standing there in a brand new Patagonia jacket telling me to wrap it up while water was literally dripping off my elbow. I tried to explain that the humidity was going to fog up the glass no matter what and he just shrugged. Ended up losing a $2,000 lens to fungus a month later because I was too tired to dry it properly that night. Sometimes you just gotta laugh so you don't cry.
