That advice about desert lighting was spot on

Back in February a guy named Mark from Phoenix Creative told me to shoot everything between 7 and 9 AM during summer. I thought he was just being dramatic but after frying a whole corporate interview shoot last June I tried his window. The footage came out clean with no blown highlights and the client actually complimented the look. Has anyone else tried strict morning schedules for outdoor shoots in Arizona?

Oh man, I totally get that. I remember this one time I was shooting a family reunion picnic in Sedona around noon because that's when everyone was free. Thought I could just crank the shutter speed and fix it in post, but everyone's faces looked like they were melting into the shadows. Now I just tell people they gotta eat breakfast early if they want decent pictures.

7 AM to 9 AM is the golden rule for pretty much anything outside here. It's like how you learn the hard way that 3 PM traffic is the devil's playground, you just gotta plan around it.
