Question about scheduling shoots near monsoon season

Last month I overheard a guy at Fry's Electronics telling someone he lost three days of outdoor filming because he didn't check the monsoon forecast. That hit home since I had a similar near miss last August near Payson. I started using the NWS Flagstaff office's daily radar snapshots and it saved my bacon on a real estate shoot last week. Has anyone else found a better way to plan around the afternoon storms?

Take a look at the Ventusky wind and precipitation layers. They update faster than the NWS page and show the storm cell movement hour by hour. Did that radar snapshot ever mislead you about timing for Payson?

Oh man @nora735 Ventusky is legit way faster than NWS for storm tracking. That radar snapshot totally screwed me on Payson timing last month, said it'd hit at 4pm but it rolled in at 2:30.
