Gimbal died mid-shoot at a wedding in Sedona, and I still don't know if I made the right call
Two Saturdays ago I was filming a reception at a venue in Sedona when my gimbal just stopped holding level about 20 minutes before the couple's first dance. I had maybe 3 minutes to decide between running back to the car for my backup stabilizer or just shooting handheld with my 35mm and leaning on the IBIS. I went handheld, bumped the ISO higher than I liked, and the footage came out usable but grainier than anything else I delivered. My editor thinks I should have grabbed the backup and risked missing the dance, and I think a slightly noisy clip beats no clip at all. Which way would you have gone?
