Found a stat about desert lighting that made me ditch my softbox setup
I read that Arizona averages 280+ clear days a year which means direct sun is way more consistent than I thought. Saw it on the NWS page last week and now I'm leaning into natural light for outdoor shoots. Anyone else switch up their kit based on local weather data?

Wait 280+ days? That's insane, I'd be editing out shadows constantly. I bet your diffuser just collects dust now.

Grab a speedlight and a snoot instead. You can fill in those harsh shadows without dragging around a big diffuser. For me it turned into less gear, more movement during shoots. Just gotta time those golden hours right or use the buildings as natural blockers. Works way better than fighting the sun with fabric.
