Figured out the hard way that Arizona sun kills gaffer tape in about 45 minutes

I had a cable run on a outdoor shoot near Tucson last month and the tape turned to goo before we even finished setting up lights, has anyone found a brand that actually holds up past noon here?

Gaffer tape and I have trust issues since a flagpole incident in Vegas, never looked back.
