Update: That 12th century pottery shard I posted about was a fake

Last month I brought in that decorated bowl fragment I found near the Thames foreshore for a closer look at the Museum of London's finds day. They ran it under a microscope and pointed out modern rotary tool marks under the glaze, which they said never appear on genuine medieval pieces. Has anyone else had a museum come back with bad news on something you were sure was the real deal?
