Snapped my trowel blade on a dig near Tucson, but a museum guy there changed my whole view on field repairs
I used to think fixing a broken trowel meant tossing it and grabbing a new one, until a museum guy in Tucson showed me how to re-handle a snapped blade with just a file and a scrap of oak. Took me almost 3 hours to get the tang seated right, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has tried re-handling instead of replacing, or if I'm just being stubborn about a $30 tool.
