I used to think all arrowheads were the same until I found one made of quartz near a creek in Georgia last summer
Turns out the material tells you way more about trade routes than the shape does. Has anyone else had a find that made them rethink how they date sites?

Quartz tells a different story than flint. That material had to come from somewhere specific and was probably traded far. Sounds like your site connects to a bigger network than you first thought.

YES EXACTLY. I had a site where the flint was all local junk but the quartz came from like 200 miles away. Someone was trading that stuff up the river or something, it was wild to map out. Really makes you rethink how isolated these groups actually were.
