That brand new climbing gear I doubted is now in my daily kit

Picked up a set of those new style friction saver pulleys from a rep at a conference in Denver 6 months ago. Thought they looked flimsy compared to my old steel ones. After I ran them on three big removals, the weight savings alone on my harness made me a believer. Anyone else find gear you were sure was overhyped actually works better?

Ever try giving them a proper inspection after each climb?

That brand new climbing gear I doubted is now in my daily kit" - you say that now, but give it a few more months. I watched a buddy snap one of those newfangled pulleys on a moderate limb walk just last week. Weight savings don't mean much when you're picking pieces of aluminum out of your saddle. I'll stick with my steel ones that have been through a dozen seasons without a hiccup.
