Snapped my thirty year old Silky saw blade on a knot today

Was cutting a big limb off a sugar maple in back of a house near Oak Park. Hit a knot I didn't see and the blade just went. I've had that saw since I started in the trade. Now I gotta find a replacement blade that fits the old handle. Any tips on tracking down older model spare parts?

Rough luck, I feel like my tools got more sentimental than my ex-wife did.

Hang on a second. I get being attached to a tool you've used forever, but I don't think that's the same thing as getting attached to a person. One's a hunk of metal and plastic, the other's a human being you shared your life with. That's a different kind of loss entirely. Maybe your tools just aren't that good at arguing or leaving dirty dishes in the sink. You'll probably find the blade online, though, check some arborist forums or call around to a few sharpening shops that've been around a while.
