Rant: Why I'll never use a bucket truck for tight backyard removals again

Last fall in Austin, a homeowner watched me rig down a 60-foot live oak by hand and asked why I didn't just rent a lift, then admitted he'd had another crew quote him half my price with a bucket truck that would've torn up his whole paver patio. I told him the extra $400 was for not destroying 3 seasons of landscaping, and honestly, that exchange stuck with me because everyone I know in this trade brags about speed over access. Anyone else feel like relying on machines is making new climbers lazy about reading the tree from the ground first?
