Just realized I've climbed over 500 different trees in the last year

It hit me when I logged a pin oak in Springfield. That's a lot of different bark textures and branch structures to learn. Anyone else track their climbs and get surprised by the number?

Understand completely how that sneaks up on you. I keep a small notebook in my gear bag and jot down the date and species after each climb. Flipping back through it last month, I saw I'd passed two hundred without even noticing. It makes you appreciate the sheer variety out there, doesn't it? That's a wonderful milestone you've reached.

That notebook idea is GENIUS. I used to think keeping track was just for bragging rights, but seeing you hit two hundred without even trying totally changed my mind. Now I get it's about seeing your own journey and all the little things you've found.
