Am I the only one who stopped chasing a perfect hinge cut and started doing a 3 point bore on leaners?
Had a red oak at a job in Akron leaning hard over a fence and my old face cut method kept pinching the bar around 8 inches in. Tried the bore cut with a trigger and left a 1 inch holding hinge, and it dropped dead where I aimed, no wedge, no pull line. Half the crew still thinks bore cutting is showing off, but I've done about 30 leaners this way and haven't pinched a bar since. Anyone got a lean angle where you'd still go back to the old way?
