Vent: Spent $400 on a dryer drum repair kit and it didn't fit

Bought this universal drum repair kit for a Whirlpool model last week, figured it would save me a service call. Opened the box and the bearings were 2mm too small, wasted half a Sunday fighting with it. Anyone else run into kits that claim universal but barely work?

Overreacting a little" - yeah because nothing says overreaction like wasting $400 and a whole Sunday on something that doesn't even fit. I get that universal parts are supposed to be flexible but when the bearings are literally 2mm too small that's not a universal issue, that's just false advertising. The kit basically turned my dryer into a very expensive paperweight until I could get the right part. If you ever try to wrestle a dryer drum back into place with undersized bearings you'd understand why someone might get a bit frustrated. It's not like this was a $20 fix either, $400 is serious money for most of us and expecting it to work isn't asking for much.

Honestly, are you sure it was really that big of a deal or are you just overreacting a little?
