Question about dryer vents: finally switched to rigid metal from that foil stuff
After 4 years of cleaning out crushed foil vents in Minneapolis basements, I swapped to rigid metal and my last 3 calls had zero airflow issues and the dryers run way faster, anyone else make that change and see the same?

Read a study that said rigid metal cuts fire risk by nearly 80%.

Honestly though, does that 80% account for the fact that metal can get crazy hot and transfer heat to stuff nearby? Saw a fire chief once say that metal roofs are great until lightning hits or embers pile up, then they can actually trap heat. Maybe the study only tested perfect conditions, not real world mess like leaves blocking vents.
