Question about a weird voltage reading on a Bosch dishwasher control board
I was checking a 120V line on a 800 series board and got a steady 90V reading, which made the unit act like it had low power until I found a corroded neutral splice in the junction box behind the kickplate.

Corrosion on the neutral side will give you all sorts of weird voltage readings like that. It creates a high resistance path, so the voltage doesn't drop to zero where it should. Always check the neutral connection first when you see a steady low voltage like 90v on a 120v line. That splice point behind the kickplate is a known trouble spot on those models. Good find.

Used to think it was always a bad board when I saw voltages like that... this totally changed my mind though. That neutral splice makes so much sense now.

Oh man, that's a classic. I read a service bulletin about that exact corrosion issue. Troy_butler7 is totally right, that splice is a real headache on those boards.
