PSA: That sticker on the washer lid about the shipping bolts isn't just for new buyers
Pulled a front loader apart on Tuesday in Springdale and found the drum beat itself to death because the guy never removed the shipping bolts from the back. He bought it used off Facebook for $150 and ran it for 8 months like that. The manual says to pull 4 bolts, he said he thought they were just stabilizer feet for moving it. Anyone else seeing this a lot with secondhand machines, or is it just me running into it every other call now?

Did you know this same thing happens with tons of secondhand stuff people buy online? Like bikes where the guy never tightens the stem bolts, or treadmills that still have the shipping screws in the deck, and folks just assume extra hardware means it's supposed to be there. It's a weird mental block where people trust the machine more than the manual, so they skip the boring setup steps and pay for it later. I've learned to always ask for the manual when I buy used, even if it's just a PDF, because guessing costs way more than reading.
