I was checking for continuity on a Whirlpool dryer heating element wrong for a solid year

Honestly, I was always pulling the whole element out to test it, which took like 15 minutes each time. Then a guy at a supply house in Tacoma told me to just check the terminals on the housing with the element still in place. Ngl, it blew my mind that I'd been making extra work for myself. Anyone else have a basic test they were doing the hard way for way too long?

Oh man, that reminds me of checking car fuses... used to pull every single one to look at it. A buddy finally showed me the little test light trick. Felt pretty dumb after that.

My dad taught me the same trick with a multimeter, saved me so much time.

Yeah, I was the same as @jennifer_fisher, pulling fuses one by one. That multimeter trick is a total game changer.
