I used to say thermal fuses were overkill on dryers until the one in Riverside almost lit a lint trap
Was on a Kenmore 80 series call last month, the guy had been running it with a jumped fuse for two years, and when I pulled the back panel the lint around the heater was black and flaking. Told him I used to jump them myself back in my 20s to save a buck, but seeing that charred mess changed my mind real quick, that $12 part is not the place to get cute. Anybody else had a fuse bypass come back to bite them on a service call?
