DAE have a dryer drum belt trick backfire and leave you with a bigger job?
Last Tuesday I swapped a worn drum belt on a 12-year-old Whirlpool by rolling it on with the motor pulley spinning, something a tech in Fresno showed me back in 2019, and it grabbed and twisted the belt into the idler arm. The belt snapped and nicked the blower wheel housing, so a $14 part turned into a $70 fix and an extra hour on my knees. Has anybody else had a shortcut like this bite them, or am I the only one who should just pull the drum every time?
