Bought a $22 analog multimeter at a flea market and it saved my bacon on a stacked dryer
Everybody laughs at the old needle meter but a digital one kept jumping around on a Maytag stacked unit in Cedar Rapids and I could not get a stable read on the heating element. The analog needle swept smooth and told me right away the element was fine and the real trouble was a relay on the control board. Twenty two bucks and it earned its keep in one call. Anybody else keep a cheap backup meter in the van just for weird stuff like that?
