3 hours of my life gone on a dishwasher drain hose kit

Picked up a universal dishwasher drain hose kit from the hardware store last Saturday. Figured it would save me a trip to the supply house since it claimed to fit every brand. Spent 3 hours fighting with adapters that didn't quite seal and a hose that kinked in the tight space under the sink. Ended up tossing the whole thing and buying the OEM part from my supplier for $18 on Monday. That cheap kit cost me $12 and a whole Saturday afternoon. Anyone else get burned by those universal appliance parts that claim to work on everything?

Are you telling me you actually spent 180 minutes on a $12 part? I would have thrown that thing through a window after the first hour. I tried a universal washing machine fill hose once and it leaked water all over my basement floor at 2 AM. Some things just aren't worth the gamble.
