Vent: my Crunchyroll queue hit 47 shows and I finally figured out why I never finish anything
Three weeks ago I sat down on a Sunday to finally catch up on anime and realized I had 47 shows sitting in my queue, most of them with just one episode watched. I did the math and figured out I was starting a new show almost every other day but finishing maybe one a season. The problem was I kept adding stuff people recommended on Reddit without ever thinking about whether I actually wanted to watch it. So I made a rule for myself, no new shows until I either finish or drop whatever I'm on. Two weeks in and I've already cleared out 9 shows, some I dropped after 2 episodes and felt great about it. How do you all decide when to drop a show vs push through? I still feel weird bailing on stuff everyone says gets good at episode 12.
That episode 12 thing is exactly what traps people. I gave Steins;Gate the full 12 episode test and still dropped it because if a show needs half its run to get good, that's a bad deal for me. Where do you draw your own line, is it a set number of episodes or more about how you feel after each one?
