TIL the old Naruto vs Bleach fan war basically died out in like 2015

I was looking at old forum archives and the flame wars were everywhere in 2010. The shift to seasonal anime and streaming services just made everyone move on to new shows. Anyone else notice a specific old rivalry that just vanished?

The console wars from the PS3 and Xbox 360 era had that same intense energy. It just faded when exclusives became less of a big deal.

I remember my friend Dan bought a PS3 just for Metal Gear Solid 4. He never touched another game on it. That was the power of a true exclusive back then, like @wendy_clark said. Now I see the same game pop up on PC a year later. The fights were so heated because your choice actually locked you out of whole worlds. Now everything feels like it's just waiting to go on sale somewhere else.
