Subbed vs dubbed, my 3 month experiment changed my take

I spent from January to March watching every new show twice, once subbed and once dubbed, to settle the debate for myself. Ended up with 14 series and honestly the dub won for comedy shows like Spy x Family, but subbed hit harder for drama like Frieren. The voice acting timing threw me off at first, but I noticed dubs add small jokes that aren't in the original script. Now I pick based on genre instead of being loyal to one side. Has anyone else swapped their usual preference and found it changed how they enjoy certain shows?
