Showerthought: I realized I've been watching anime wrong for years
My whole plan to binge the entire 'Monogatari' series in order over a long weekend completely fell apart last Saturday. I got three episodes into 'Bakemonogatari' and realized I had no idea what the characters were talking about half the time, and I was just reading subtitles without actually getting the story. I had to stop, look up a real watch order guide, and start over from the beginning with a notepad. Has anyone else had a show just break their usual way of watching?

My friend tried to explain the Monogatari watch order to me once and it sounded like a conspiracy theory with string and push pins. This happens with everything now, from coffee brewing to TV shows. We're told the normal way is wrong and the real way needs a flowchart and a three hour YouTube explainer. It makes simple hobbies feel like homework.

Three hour YouTube explainer for coffee? That's insane.
