Pro tip: I used to skip the opening songs on every anime for about 2 years straight.

Then I watched a show called 'Bocchi the Rock' and the opening was so good I actually let it play. Now I realize I was missing a huge part of the vibe and sometimes even story hints. Do you have a show where the opening totally changed your mind?

Actually saw this happen with a buddy of mine. He was a hardcore skipper until he got stoned and accidentally let the Cowboy Bebop opening play through. Called me the next day going on about how it was "a religious experience" or something. Now he sits through every single opening like it's part of his religion, even the bad ones.

Man, I did the same thing for YEARS. Skipped every single opening like it was my job. Then I finally sat through the one for "Attack on Titan" and my brain just broke. The music, the visuals showing the walls, it sets up the whole doomed feeling of the show. Now I feel like a fool for missing out on that HYPE every week. Some of them are just pure mood.

Okay but you have to watch it more than once. The first AoT opening is great, but it changes later. The visuals and lyrics get darker as the show does. If you only saw the first one, you missed the whole story they tell. It's not just a mood setter, it's a spoiler-free summary of the season's tone. Skipping it means you miss that extra layer.
