Hot take: my brother in law swore the Ghibli dub was better than the sub, and he was 100% right
I watched Spirited Away subbed for 12 years straight until my brother in law made me sit through the dub at his place in Cleveland last month, and now I genuinely can't decide which side I'm on, so somebody please settle this for me.

Funny thing is I did the EXACT same thing in reverse. Watched dubs my whole childhood because I didn't know any better, then got all smug about subs in my twenties like I had unlocked some secret level of anime. Now I just flip a coin depending on my mood that day. The Ghibli dubs are solid though, the people doing those voices actually put in real work.
