Finally finished my first long anime rewatch after 8 months of stopping and starting

I was in my living room last Sunday night, three episodes away from wrapping up a 90-something episode series I started back in February. I kept getting distracted by other shows and work stuff, so I set a goal to just watch one episode every evening no matter what. Last week I pushed through the final arc even though the pacing got slow around episode 70. Has anyone else had a series that took way longer than expected to finish?

I read somewhere that the average person takes like 6 months to finish a "short" 26 episode show these days because of all the streaming options we got now. That rings true for me big time. I started a 90 episode series back in January and just now hit episode 50 last week. The middle part around episode 40 really dragged for me too, had to force myself not to jump to something else. I heard this one podcast guy say it helps to watch with a buddy so you stay accountable, but I usually just end up rewatching old episodes to remind myself what happened.
