DAE think the 'One Piece' filler arc debate is kinda pointless now?

I was in a huge anime Discord server last night, and a debate about the Skypiea arc in 'One Piece' got super heated. One side said it's essential world-building, while the other called it a slog that made them drop the show for 6 months. I tried to mediate by saying the pacing is the real issue, not the arc itself. Has anyone else seen a classic anime debate totally derail a chill discussion?

Wait, they dropped the show for SIX MONTHS over Skypiea? That's wild to me. The pacing can drag for sure, but that arc has some of the best payoff moments later on. I've seen debates like that completely take over a server, and it's always about pacing, not the story. People get so dug in they forget it's okay to just watch something else for a bit.
