Be careful with subbed vs dubbed watch parties

I organized a small group to watch a new anime last Friday and didnt think to clarify subbed vs dubbed beforehand. Three people showed up expecting the dub and two wanted subs. It took us 45 minutes just to agree on how to watch it and we ended up splitting into two rooms. Has anyone else run into this kind of scheduling mess?

Happened to me last year with a One Piece rewatch I tried to set up. Two people bailed before we even picked a platform because they refused to watch the other version. Ended up just scrapping the whole thing and never tried again because managing both groups is a nightmare. Real kicker was the guy who wanted subbed but got mad at me for not having snacks ready for his preferred audio choice. People get weirdly defensive about this stuff.
