Wireless sensor dropout on a ranch job outside Boise

I did a system install back in March at a 40 acre property and spent nearly 11 hours hunting down a sensor that kept dropping off the panel. Turned out the repeater was mounted too close to a metal utility shed, and the signal bounced weirdly in the open field. I finally moved it 30 feet away and re-paired everything, then it worked fine. Has anyone else dealt with range issues that seemed to have no clear cause on wide open properties? I'd love to hear what fixed it for you.

11 hours though? That seems like a lot of time to spend on one sensor when you could have just swapped the repeater out and moved on with your day. Metal sheds mess with signal, everyone knows that by now. Maybe the real issue was just bad luck with how the radio waves lined up with the field, which is basically a coin flip out in the boonies. Glad it worked out, but I would have tried a different frequency or just buried a cable long before hour eight.
