Update: I ran a job with a standard 2-wire versus a 4-wire smoke detector setup.
The 4-wire let me separate power and signal, which meant no false alarms from voltage drops on a long cable run. Anyone else run into this on a big house install?

I've never had that issue with a good 2-wire setup, honestly.

Respectfully disagree though. Two wire setups have always been flaky for me in any kind of real world weather. Might work fine in theory but give me a solid 3-wire any day.

Oh wow, I was totally against them for the longest time. But honestly, seeing a proper one work changed my mind completely.
