Wait, nine hours though? How does that even happen? Zone resistors at the panel is pretty standard stuff, like day one fire alarm basics. I get that field wiring can be confusing but wouldn't you check the manual or call someone after hour two or three? Sounds more like a bad day than some big lesson.
