That $350 battery backup unit died after 4 months, total junk

Installed one of those standby power units for a client's panel back in November. Paid $350 for it because I thought the cheap ones were risky. Four months later it's bricked, no output light, and the client's system was dead silent during a 3 hour outage. The brand had good reviews too, so I'm calling bs on all of them. Anyone else have luck with a different backup brand that actually lasts? My supplier won't take it back since I already drilled the mounting holes.

Man, that's rough. Reviews these days are about as reliable as a weather forecast. I've had better luck with the cheaper brands, honestly, they seem to be built with simpler guts that are less likely to fry themselves.
