Serious question, has anyone else had issues with the new firmware update for the SecureLink 5000 panels?

My old boss told me to always wait at least a month before updating, and after my first install with the new 2.1.7 firmware bricked a panel in a customer's house in Tempe last Tuesday, I wish I'd listened.

Our internal tech bulletin flagged that specific update for power supply handshake problems. They quietly pulled the 2.1.7 build from the server two days after release. Your old boss gave you the only good advice in this business.

Joke all you want about timing, but that two versus three day argument is exactly why I keep a printed calendar taped to my monitor. I swear our IT team tracks updates like they're hiding Easter eggs, not fixing power supplies. Next time they pull a build, I'm just gonna follow my gut and wait a full week before touching anything.

Oh wow, that's actually a bit off. Honestly blakeo57, they pulled 2.1.7 after three days, not two. I remember because it was a Friday and we all got the weekend alert. Tbh, the bulletin was right about the handshake issue, but the timing is what messed up the rollback plan. Your point about the old boss's advice is still totally true though.
